Susie Mae Pinkard

August 24, 1969 — October 29, 2025

Texarkana, TX

In loving memory of Susie Mae Pinkard, born on Sunday, August 24, 1969, in Chicago, Illinois, who peacefully rested from her labor on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in Texarkana, Texas.

A devoted mother, fierce protector, and cherished friend, Susie was the embodiment of love and strength. She is survived by her beloved son, Antonio McClain (Shauna), and her daughters, Jasmine Williams, Auryeal Parker (Eni), Andrea McClain (Avery), and Taneshia McClain (Benjamin), as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchild: Heavenly, Jaycee, Gianna, and Xydus (great-grandson). In addition to her biological children, Susie opened her heart and home to five foster children-later adopting three, Jayden, Tyana, and T'rell-demonstrating her boundless compassion and lifelong commitment to nurturing those in need.

Susie was the seventh of eight children and grew up on the West Side of Chicago, where she attended Austin High School. She later earned her Graduate Equivalence Degree and became a licensed cosmetologist. During her school years, she left her mark by running track and performing with the pom-pom squad. Known as a jack of all trades, Susie had a unique ability to stay informed on current events and always seemed to have a fix for every problem-firmly believing that "tape and glue could fix anything."

A dedicated member of Greater Heights Church of God in Christ, Susie's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She lived a life of service and gratitude, always striving to do the work of God. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome-her door was rarely locked, and when it was, everyone knew something was wrong. No matter where she lived, Susie had a gift for making her house a home.

After moving from Chicago, she made Texarkana her home, raising her children with love, laughter, and resilience. Her love for zebra print reflected her bold and lively personality, much like her admiration for Michael Jordan and her unwavering loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys. She found joy in gospel and R&B music, often filling her home with songs of praise and soulful melodies. She also enjoyed watching crime and mystery shows, intrigued by the twists and turns of each story.

Funeral services will be held to honor and celebrate Susie's beautiful life. A public viewing will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Four States Funeral Home. Friends and family are warmly invited to gather in remembrance of this extraordinary woman. Her homegoing celebration will follow on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Heights Church of God in Christ, where we will share stories, reflect on her legacy, and rejoice in the love she so freely gave.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Rosamay James and Pinkney James, her sister Helen J. Allen, and her grandson Taylor McClain.

Susie had seven siblings: Regina (Ronald), Pinkney (Maxine), Ruth (Daniel), Helen (Robert), Melvin, Michael, and Sarah. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends to cherish her memory.

We all loved her, but God loved her more.

As we say our goodbyes, let us carry forward Susie's spirit of love, resilience, and compassion. Though she will be deeply missed, her light will forever shine through the lives she touched and the hearts she healed.
