**In Loving Memory of Janice Dale Key**
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Janice Dale Key, aged 79, of Texarkana, TX, on August 26, 2025. She left us quietly at her home, surrounded by love and fond memories, after bravely facing health challenges.
Janice was born on June 17, 1946, to David B. Young Sr. and Verna "Johnnie" Young in Odessa, TX. From her early years, she embodied a spirit of adventure and compassion. A proud graduate of Van Cove High School in 1964, Janice approached life with enthusiasm and a desire to serve others.
Her zest for life was vividly displayed through her love for motorcycles, along with her cherished husband, Lee Roy. Together, they attended numerous motorcycle rallies where Janice's outgoing nature shone brightly. Janice was also a lifelong learner, pursuing nursing, welding, and culinary classes, highlighting her unwavering dedication to personal growth and knowledge.
Professionally, Janice made a remarkable impact at the Texas Department of Human Services, starting as an administrative assistant before taking on the essential role of social worker for the aged and disabled. She was passionate about providing care and support to those in need, demonstrating a strong work ethic that inspired her family and friends alike.
Beyond her career, Janice cherished memorable moments spent cruising with friends and participating in events like the Sturgis motorcycle rally. She also devoted her time to the Christian Motorcyclist Association as a secretary, exemplifying her commitment to her community.
Janice is survived by her beloved daughter, Tina Rankin, and son-in-law, Wayne Rankin. She takes with her the love of her grandchildren, Cody Aaron and Ashley May, along with her great-grandchildren: Braxton, Kinsley, Bryson, and Raelynn Allen. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her nieces, Vicki Deputy and Lori Young, and a special friend, Annette Wilhite, who lovingly cared for her in her final months. Janice's dear fur babies, Joy (Pomeranian), Bit (Yorkie), and Zues (Pitbull granddoggie) will also miss her deeply.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, David and Verna, her brother, David Young Jr., and her ex-husband, Lee Roy Key.
As we celebrate Janice's beautiful life, we honor her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering service. She will remain in our hearts as a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Rest in peace, dear Janice; your spirit will forever resonate with those who had the privilege to know you.
