Derrick was a loving father, devoted, brother, beloved son, admired nephew, cousin, and trusted friend who left this world behind far too soon for future generations to cherish his legacy.
Derrick Lamar Jefferson III (DJ) was youngest of three born to the union of LaTasha Curley and Derrick Jefferson (Jick) Sr. on January 23, 2002 In Texarkana TX.
DJ was a highly intelligent young man who graduated from Washington Academy in 2020. During his life he helped bring into this world two beautiful daughters Haelynn Jefferson, and Cimani Jefferson with their mothers: Mya Sanders, and Jasmine Martin. His daughters were his world, He poured out all his life and energy into them, always sacrificing so much of his time to making sure they were loved and cared for. He worked hard to make sure they never went without and they garnered all the necessities of life he could afford them. He truly had a huge heart for his girls.
DJ loved his family and friends also. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone he could. He was very respectful, loyal, loving, caring, trustworthy, hard working, and so full of life. Whenever he stepped into a room and he would light it up the atmosphere with his presence. DJ loved vaping, performing at shows doing tricks with his vape. He started his own clothing line and was head of his own car club called Crown Vic's. Derrick had a fondness for the Ford Crown Victoria which was his car of choice in which he was the owner of many in his time with here and he loved them above all other cars. Dj had involvement in may endeavors while he was with us. He was loved, and he will be missed very much.
Derrick was proceeded in death by his grandfather Clarence Jefferson Sr. (Too Little), two aunts: Bridgett Curley and Marissa Martin.
He leaves to cherish his memories his grandmother Rosie Jefferson and Cynthia Curley. His mother La Tasha Curley, father, and Derrick (Jick) Jefferson Sr. He has six sisters: Kalaan Curley, Kalaeyah Jefferson, Kaygha Jefferson, Derianna Jefferson, Aunisty Criner, Makayla Jefferson, and five brothers: Derrick Jefferson, Von Derrick Jefferson, Brandon Rankins, Omarijuan Hayden, and Keishaun Jefferson. He also leaves has a host of uncles, aunts, necies, nephews, cousins, and friends.
