Andrea McClain

Born on November 26, 1992, in Texarkana, Texas, Andrea "Poochie" McClain was a woman whose strength, determination, and love for family left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She departed this life on May 28, 2026, at the age of 33, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Raised in Texarkana with roots extending to Chicago, Illinois, Poochie spent part of her childhood on the Arkansas side before her family relocated to Texas. She attended Texas High School, where she excelled as an athlete and developed the competitive spirit that would define much of her life. Whether in sports, business, or everyday life, she approached every challenge with confidence and determination.

Poochie was a natural entrepreneur and a true go-getter. Throughout her career, she worked in hospitality, retail, and hairstyling, building meaningful relationships everywhere she went. As a talented hairstylist, she used her creativity and passion to help others look and feel their best. She was also the owner of Poochie Diversity Customs and was always exploring new opportunities to grow, create, and succeed. One of her proudest accomplishments was earning her CDL license and becoming a bus driver, a goal she worked hard to achieve.

Those who knew Poochie best remember her honesty, strong will, and caring heart. She never hesitated to speak her mind, stand up for what she believed in, or defend the people she loved. While she often appeared tough on the outside, family and friends knew the kindness, compassion, and generosity that lived within her.

Family was at the center of Poochie's life. Following the example of her mother, Susie Pinkard, she worked hard to keep loved ones connected through holiday gatherings, family events, phone calls, and shared memories. She believed family should stay close and spent much of her life bringing people together.

Poochie loved music, laughter, friendly competition, game nights, and spending time with those she cared about most. Whether challenging someone to a game of Tetris, discussing a new business idea, or simply making others laugh, she had a way of filling every room with energy and life.

A woman of faith, Poochie attended Greater Heights Church and carried her beliefs with her throughout life's journey.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Susie Pinkard and leaves to cherish her memory her devoted fiancé, Avery Bruce; her father, Antonio McClain Sr.; her siblings, Antonio "TJ" McClain Jr., Taneshia "Jazzy" McClain, Auryeal "Fat Fat" Parker, Jasmine "Jas" Williams, Alexys Starks, Kharmen McClain, and Trevonya McClain; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Though her time with us was far too short, Poochie's love, strength, and unforgettable spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
